About your visit > Our Osteopaths

Graham started his medical career as a nurse, working for nine years at a major teaching hospital in London. Since becoming an Osteopath in 2000, he has practised from three London GP surgeries and been in private practice in South London. During this time he also taught clinical examination and was a clinic tutor on an osteopathic degree course in Epsom.
He has taken further studies in Dry Needling and electro acupuncture and often combines treatments during a session.

Dry Needling seeks to understand why acupuncture works from a modern orthodox western perspective. It looks closely at muscular anatomy and seeks to remedy pain by using needles over painful/tender bands of muscle(s)
(trigger points) and to attempt to deactivate them. Electro acupuncture is a stronger method whereby a current is passed through the needle and into the muscle.
This technique is useful for ongoing/chronic pain. Whereas acupuncture needles are often not felt, electro acupuncture seeks a response from the patient who can control the strength of the current.
